The Word Skills workbooks are designed to be used alongside each set of Fitzroy Readers as part of a structured, cumulative literacy program. They provide systematic practice in spelling (encoding), grammar, punctuation, comprehension and written expression, supporting the development of broader writing conventions.
Each workbook aligns with the corresponding Reader set, allowing students to consolidate newly taught letter-sound correspondences, spelling patterns and high-frequency irregular words through carefully sequenced activities.
