Scope and Sequence overview tables
These tables outline the scope and sequence for the first three years of the Fitzroy Program - Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2. Each table shows the resources used each term, the order of the Readers, and the key skills introduced at that level, including GPCs, phonological and morphological understanding, spelling patterns, high-frequency words, handwriting, grammar, punctuation and writing skills.
Vic Phonics Plus alignment tables
These tables show how the Fitzroy Readers resources align with the Victorian Government’s Phonics Plus Scope and Sequence for Foundation to Year 2. They outline where each recommended skill—such as GPCs, phonemic awareness, spelling patterns, high-frequency words and handwriting—is taught or reinforced in the Fitzroy Program. Teachers can use these tables to match their planning to the Phonics Plus guidelines using Fitzroy materials.
Word knowledge tables
These tables outline the word knowledge introduced in the first six sets of Fitzroy Readers. They show the progression of skills - from simple CVC words to more complex spelling patterns, morphology, and irregular sight words.
Each table lists the words, spelling patterns and high-frequency words unique to that set of Fitzroy Readers - they do not repeat words introduced in earlier sets. These tables can be used to identify the level of phonics and word knowledge in each set of Fitzroy Readers.
